An Airy, Mountaintop Wedding at Silver Hearth Lodge in Roanoke, Virginia

Jordan Reid (22, teacher) and Ted Lyle (22, accountant) began dating in their senior year of high school and fell in love by the time graduation came around. Four years later, on a trip to Holden Beach, North Carolina with Jordan's family, the couple took a walk. They went to an old mailbox on the beach where people left their love letters. It was here that Ted got down on one knee and proposed to Jordan. They planned to get married two months later, at Silver Hearth Lodge on top of Bent Mountain in Roanoke, Virginia. The mountaintop wedding was light and airy with shades of white and pink and decorations that incorporated burlap, lace, string lights and wildflowers. Wedding fashions included bridesmaids in short, pink dresses with bouquets of baby's breath and groomsmen in beige vests and slacks with pink ties. Ted wore a beige blazer and boutonniere with stephanotis and baby's breath. Jordan wore a lace, trumpet style dress with a rhinestone belt and a long train. She also carried a bouquet with pink roses, white peonies, white lilies and baby's breath. The ceremony was held outdoors under a black frame wedding arch decorated with pink and white flowers, burlap and lace. During the cocktail hour that followed, guests were invited to play lawn games. The open air pavilion hosted the reception, which featured family style food, dancing and cupcakes for dessert. "Since we went to high school and college together, our wedding was a gathering of a lot of old friends," says Jordan. "It was exactly what Ted and I dreamed of."
