Amanda Rybarczyk was surprised to find that her boyfriend, Alex Sadie, had arranged for two of her closest friends and their significant others to come to the Bay Area from the East Coast for a visit. She was even more surprised to find that they weren't just there to visit: Alex had arranged for their help in pulling off an unexpected marriage proposal. The three-tier square cake featured a flourless chocolate torte, and Bavarian cream and mixed berry sponge cake; each tier featured red ribbon trim at the bottom.
All four bridesmaids wore garnet-color Thai silk dresses designed by the bride.
