Ally and Sam were acquaintances in college, but that was it. As a matter of fact, when Ally showed up at a get-together at Sam's house on a date with someone else, Sam told the date, You've got to marry that girl. Luckily for Sam, he didn't heed that advice. The Bride Allison Young, 23, pharmaceutical representative The Groom Samson Fertitta, 24, graduate student in education The Date October 7 During Ally's last semester at school, she was working on a project with Sam's roommate, and while she was there Sam never left the room. From then on, it was obvious there was something between them. A year and a half later, Sam proposed on a mountaintop. Ally went out to Sam's hometown of Roanoke for the weekend, and Sam suggested a trip to a nearby peak. Once they'd reached the summit, the two sat down on some rocks to admire the view -- and then Sam got down on one knee to ask Ally to marry him.

Our day would not have been complete without our two English Bulldogs, Gus and Gabby, Ally says. The pooches arrived dressed as a bride and groom for a quick photo op before the ceremony began.
We embraced a 'Fall in Love' theme for our wedding, Ally explains. The couple had favor tags and envelopes custom-made with the saying along with a leaf motif. A palette of crimson, burgundy, ivory, and gold added to the autumnal elegance. Guests received leaf-shaped candles wrapped in cellophane with the custom tags, as well as wedding-theme fortune cookies placed inside gold takeout boxes tied off with burgundy ribbon.
The Bridal Bouquet
Ally and Sam wed in an afternoon ceremony on the slate terrace outside the resort's clubhouse, overlooking the golf course and the distant fall colors of the mountains. I loved our site because of the long path I took to the altar, Ally explains. That way I got to savor each second and memorize the look on Sam's face. The couple kept the decorations minimal to let the mountain setting shine through.
Ally's bridesmaids had a foot difference in height, so finding a dress that would flatter all her girls was definitely a challenge. She wound up selecting a claret-colored satin strapless A-line by Mori Lee. The asymmetrically draped waist was adorned with crystals, and a chiffon insert accented the skirt. The maids carried nosegays of ivory Asian lilies, black magic roses, red sweetheart roses, and hypericum berries tied with gold ribbon.
