Oklahoma State University alums Allison and Stephen met in an advanced microbiology class during their junior year. They were immediately drawn to one another and began dating shortly afterward. The Bride Allison Reed, 25, microbiology graduate student The Groom Stephen Farrand, 25, biotech research associate The Date September 29 Following Allison’s first year of graduate school, Stephen decided that he was ready to begin his life with her. She whole-heartedly agreed, and the couple began planning their hometown wedding at an intimate chapel.

The four bridesmaids wore custom-made, strapless, A-line gowns in cranberry. Ivory sashes adorned their waists.
Just after sunset, Allison and Stephen said their “I dos” in an intimate church wedding. They reworded the traditional vows to better represent their personal feelings and symbolically removed their promise rings before exchanging wedding bands.
The four-tiered cake was iced in ivory buttercream and a chocolate damask design. Green orchids surrounded the bottom layer and sat on top of the cake.
Burgundy ribbons were placed around white chairs to reserve them for the wedding party
Square vases filled with safari sunset stems and black Baccara roses were surrounded by glowing votive candles.
Allison’s hand-tied bouquet overflowed with black Baccara and freedom roses.
Clear red bags filled with Red Hots and Hot Tamales candy were tied with black ribbon and a monogrammed card.

Allison and Stephen shared a slow dance to “You and I,” by Michael Buble.
