The Ceremony
Following the early evening ceremony, everyone headed to the Montgomery Inn Reception Center. It's great because it has the city feel without the hassles of being right in downtown, says Alisa. The reception began with a cocktail hour, following which the doors to the grand ballroom were opened.
Three-tier cake flavored with chocolate Bailey's, white chocolate truffle, and orange butter with strawberry cream cheese.
For the ceremony site, Alisa and Scott chose the Holy Cross Immaculata Church in Cincinnati. I remember as soon as I saw the church during my freshman year at Xavier, I just knew that it was where I wanted to get married, Alisa says. The chapel sits on a hill overlooking the Cincinnati city skyline and the Ohio River. The soaring space inside suited the ceremony perfectly, easily accommodating the 200 guests. Alisa and Scott needed little to dress up the interior-simply candles and a bit of greenery.
