When Eric walked onto the dance floor of a club in Las Vegas, it was hard for Alexis and her friends not to take notice. Once he came over to introduce himself, Alexis and Eric spent the next six hours dancing. The Bride Alexis Flores, 24, manager The Groom Eric Sanabria, 32, graphic designer The Date July 9 After a sweet proposal five months later, Alexis and Eric set out to plan an April wedding. Alexis’ aunt suggested they look at the Naval Base Coronado, and the two fell in love with the site right away. They opted to have both their ceremony and reception on Breakers Beach, on a deck overlooking the shores.

Alexis wore a white Carmela Sutera gown with a mermaid silhouette and a sweetheart neckline. It featured lace detailing on the front, with gathered fabric in the back. She was the quintessential bride in a cathedral-length veil, a borrowed diamond necklace from her aunt, drop earrings, and crocheted, white, wrist-length gloves.
In continuing with the day’s Asian-inspired blossom motif, the three-tiered, hexagonal chocolate ganache cake was covered in pale blue flowers cascading down from the top tier. The cake was two flavors: pineapple cheese and blueberry peach.
So they could better enjoy the views of the ocean (and each other), Alexis and Eric sat at a sweetheart table beneath the huppah they used for the ceremony.
To create long banquet tables, the couple arranged each table end-to-end along the deck, and draped them with white linens and blue table runners. Two awnings covered the area where guests were seated, and paper lanterns and twinkle lights were hung for additional lighting.
Alexis carried a beach-worthy bouquet of yellow roses framed by greenery, with stems of sea grass shooting up over the top.
To match the ocean blue color palette, Alexis’ three attendants wore silk, floral-print halter dresses with sweetheart necklines by Betsey Johnson. They were fitted with a tie at the waist.
Each eight-foot table was accented with three mason jars in different sizes, filled with a variety of flowers. Votives in the center cast a romantic glow.
The couple recited vows they had written themselves on a deck overlooking Coronado Beach. Alexis’ father and Eric built a huppah for the two to stand beneath, and their close friend, who became ordained just to marry them, performed the ceremony. The friend was actually with Alexis the night she met Eric, and spoke fondly of their relationship and how she knew that night that the two would get married.
