One of Adrienne's favorite verses from the Bible inspired their wedding style: To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1). She and Joshua set a date in September, when the seasons would actually be changing. The Bride Adrienne Lay The Groom Joshua Causey The Date September 25 Adrienne, a design consultant, and Joshua, president of a security company, first met as high schoolers in a Christian youth group. Though the two seniors were about to go their separate ways for college, Adrienne and Joshua, now both 24, managed to stay together for all four years. Six months after the two graduated, Joshua planned a romantic proposal -- and they soon started work on their seasonally inspired wedding.

The ceremony unfolded on the resort's terrace. Adrienne and Joshua stood beneath a veranda decorated with hanging votives and two large arrangements of the same flowers that were used in the bouquets -- sunset calla lilies, camel roses, orchids, hydrangeas, peonies, berries, and leaves. Adrienne and Joshua selected vows they had found in a Christian wedding book, making a few changes of their own to personalize it.
Tables at Adrienne and Josh's reception were covered in gold silk tablecloths and boasted a mix of five different centerpieces -- each had similar flowers but the heights were varied for a pretty effect. Votive candles abounded, and, Adrienne says, the room was just drenched in candlelight.
Adrienne wore an ivory organza gown with a modified mermaid silhouette by Vera Wang.
Outside, beneath the veranda where Adrienne and Josh had exchanged their vows, the wedding cakes held court, hinting at just one of the sweet things to come.
