A Yellow and Purple Wedding at Hotel Arista in Naperville, Illinois
Marina Andrusenko (28 and a nurse) had been working out for two years at the gym where Paul Idzik (28 and an engineer) was a personal trainer before he made his move. Within just a few training sessions, they were dating, and three years after that, Marina and Paul married in an elegant affair at the luxe Hotel Arista in Naperville, Illinois. The couple chose a modern palette of yellow, plum and gray to suit the summer-meets-fall feel of their September wedding date, and worked with their florist to create a romantic, striking ceremony setting lit by dozens of glowing candles. At the reception, three types of centerpieces featured tall branches, candles, reflective mirrors and rose petals. And Oak Mill Bakery loaded four dessert tables with pastries, cookies, and chocolates to end the night on a sweet note—not to mention the ombre polka dot wedding cake. —Michelle Thomas
