A Woodsy Garden Wedding at Brown County State Park in Nashville, Indiana

Kenzie Guiver (22 and a teacher) and Evan Hoopfer (22 and a journalist) always loved taking long walks, hiking and enjoying nature at Brown County State Park in Nashville, Indiana. They loved it so much that they didn't even consider other venues when planning their wedding. “One day we stopped to watch the sunset, looked out over all the forestry and lakes and Evan said, ‘Wouldn't this be a beautiful place to get married?’ We couldn't resist the view, and ever since that day we couldn't picture doing it anywhere else.” Kenzie and Evan invited 40 of their closest friends and family to celebrate with garden-inspired details, such as cake pops decorated like flowers with a little white picket fence around them. How cute is that? Since their wedding was intimate, Kenzie and Evan really focused on being present with the most supportive people in their lives. “Our best friends officiated, DJ’d, photographed and participated in the ceremony and reception,” Kenzie says. “Everything was relaxed and focused on spending quality time together. We didn't stick to tradition when planning the wedding, but really stuck to what felt was ‘us.’ ” One of our favorite details was Kenzie and Evan's dinner, which included Trailhead Pizzeria pies and Oliver Winery sangria from Bloomington, Indiana. There are so many details we love—see them all, beautifully captured by Caitlin O'Hara, below. Advice from Evan to future husbands: “Friends become best friends, best friends become girlfriends, girlfriends become wives. Wives should always stay all three.”
