A Woodland DIY Wedding at a Private Residence in Duck Creek Village, Utah
Handcrafted details and personalized touches lent an air of warmth and intimacy to Natale McAneny and Ronnie Reed’s woodland summer wedding.
The couple’s friends and family pitched in to help the pair pull off their brunch bash, gathering wood stumps and logs around the property for ceremony seating, planting succulents for the centerpieces and even whipping up homemade waffles and brewing beer for brunch.
Other DIY details that put a special spin on the festivities included personalized vows and custom hand-forged wedding rings. “We took classes at a machinist that makes rings the ‘old school’ way and we literally melted them down and worked with machines to make them,” Natale says. “I even engraved his by hand rather than with a laser.”
With the setting serving as a central focus for the al fresco affair, the couple ensured that the decorative details played up its natural feel. Natale and Ronnie grew their own flowers for the centerpieces, flower crowns and bouquets and their guestbook featured a wooden cover with pine tree engraving.
One of the couple’s favorite moments of the day was their intimate first look in the woods at dawn. “It gave us time to have a minute to connect before celebrating with everyone, not to mention it was a beautiful sunrise in a beautiful place!” says Natale.
