A Winter Wonderland Wedding at Castle Falls in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Mention the possibility of an ice storm on your wedding day, and many people would go cold. However, slippery sidewalks and chilly temps turned this winter wedding into a spectacular vision. Nine weeks following their engagement, Alexis Sutherland (21, OKC artist in residence) and Andrew Akard (25, operations manager) were married at Castle Falls, a quaint German restaurant and event hall tucked away in a beautiful garden. As guests walked through the wreath adorned doors, the winter setting warmed hearts. The blend of white florals with greenery played perfectly with the icicle dripped benches, trees, and railings at Castle Falls. The eye catching center pieces may have had neutral colors, but they were statement pieces standing tall on white linen covered tables with matching white covered chairs. Cream colored invitations garnished with a pine cone seamlessly tied the pine cone adornments of the center pieces into the setting. The bride’s lace and sequined strapless dress accompanied by a fur stole and topped off with a punch of color with her red heels were the perfect combination for an icy afternoon ceremony. The perfect blend of spices topped with winter fruits lightly encrusted in sugar, the naked cake, made by the bride’s grandmother, turned heads and tempted taste buds. This ice covered Oklahoma City wedding created the perfect seasonal canvas for a winter wonderland worth remembering.
