A Winter-Inspired Wedding at Plantation Farms in Byron, Georgia

A lack of snow didn’t stop this Georgia couple from having a sweet winter wedding. Ashlee Vickery (23 and a teacher) and Matthew Vickery (29 and a teacher) hosted their ceremony and reception at Plantation Farms in Byron, Georgia. “I have always loved barn weddings,” the bride says. “I was sold the moment I walked into the barn.” The couple got married in December, so Southern Belle Socials helped the couple create a winter wedding theme. “In Georgia, we rarely get snow, so I wanted to have that be a part of the wedding,” Ashlee says. White flowers, greenery, artificial snow, pinecones and candles created a cozy winter atmosphere. “Our florist [Petals] went above and beyond with the decor and flowers,” Ashlee says. “She was also such a phenomenal lady to work with.” There was no shortage of sweets, from the coffee bar the couple set up to keep guests warm throughout the chilly evening to the DIY wedding favors: peppermint hot chocolate mix in mason jars with a tag that read, “A sweet ending to a new beginning.” In addition to a wedding cake, the couple had a dessert table filled with cakes and sweets. “This was a very special part of the wedding for me because the women in our family made all the desserts and cakes,” Ashlee says. “It was a huge hit with the guests as well.” See the intimate winter-inspired details captured by Elle Puckett Photographer, below.
