A White and Yellow Fall Wedding at Artists for Humanity in South Boston, Massachusetts

Despite living two blocks away from each other for six years, it took Match.com to bring Stephanie Ruggiero (35, a manager of corporate sales for Citrix) and Paul Bakis (37, a civil engineer at HDR Inc.) together. After three years of dating, Paul proposed at 6:45 in the morning during a walk around Boston Harbor's Castle Island. "Halfway through our walk, Paul mentioned that he had a rock in his shoe. Next, he got down on one knee and pulled the most beautiful ring out of his shoe!" says Stephanie. "We walked back home an engaged couple and watched the sun come up over the water." South Boston was an easy choice for the couple who met, dated and currently live there. After a traditional Catholic wedding ceremony in Paul's family church, the party moved to Artists for Humanity—the home of a popular non-profit youth arts program for their modern wedding reception. ?With a November wedding date, but looking to avoid the typical trappings of a fall wedding, Stephanie and Paul opted for an unexpected color scheme of yellow and white along with rustic wheat sheaf centerpieces and pumpkin escort cards.
