A White and Gold Wedding at Casa Monica Hotel in St. Augustine, Florida

From the sequin bridesmaid dresses to the natural floral arrangements, Katelyn Michael (24 and in communications) and Tyler Garner’s (26 and an engineer) wedding put a fun twist on their classic gold and white color scheme. “We tried to sprinkle in our personality throughout the day,” Katelyn says. The pros at the Monarch Studio were there to capture the day, which began with an outdoor ceremony at Casa Monica Hotel, moved to a gold and white indoor reception and ended with a horse-drawn carriage exit. The Big Event, the couple’s wedding planner, and Special Arrangements by Joanne filled their day with eye-catching decor. Natural arrangements of white peonies, white garden roses, dusty millers and greenery were draped across the couple’s white wedding arch and topped each gold candlestick centerpiece. The couple’s one family-style table even matched the bridesmaid dresses as a gold glitter runner went past each gold charger. Another notable accent was Katelyn’s whimsical white wedding dress. A fan of “Say Yes to the Dress, Atlanta,” she went with a few loved ones to Bridals by Lori, where her consultant quickly pulled out the Judd Waddell gown. “It truly felt like a dream, and I knew immediately that it was my dress,” Katelyn says. With ruffles cascading down the skirt, the stunning gown added a fun touch against their white decor. Katelyn advises future couples to remember one thing on their wedding day: “No matter what unexpectedly pops up, you are marrying the love of your life and surrounded by amazing family and friends. Nothing unexpected can change the beauty of that.”
