A White and Blue Spring Wedding at Lock Haven Golf Club in Godfrey, Illinois
Larry Chambless (41 and a teacher) and Eric Ashlock's (30 and a relations banker) wedding combined playful springtime details with bright shades of blue. The pair's ceremony took place at First Unitarian Church in Alton, Illinois. "It was very beautiful," Larry says. "There were gorgeous chandeliers and stained glass. We had white roses for the wedding flowers in the front and big white pew bows." After the ceremony, guests were invited to Lockhaven Golf Club for a cocktail hour and reception, captured by Kristina Cipolla Photography. "We wanted an upscale wedding reception, and we didn’t skimp on a single detail," Larry says. Centerpieces varied between feather-filled candelabras and white rose and blue hydrangea flower arrangements by Victoria Cripps Floral Design. Blue and white reception lighting carried through the pair's wedding colors throughout the evening. Guests enjoyed an extensive menu of lamb, beef and chicken at a carving station. For dessert, a four-tier cupcake tower was topped with a cake, so guests had their choice of either—or both. Our favorite detail? The blue candy-jar guest favors, allowing everyone to take home a little "something blue" from the couple's wedding. Larry's final advice for other couples? "Don’t put a budget on yourself," Larry says. "You will always end up with more than what you think, but at the end of the day, it was all well worth it. After all, it’s your wedding day."
