Melissa Nazareno (28, Management Professional) met Jason Lewicki (29, Software Engineer) during their college years through an online dating site. Less than thrilled about the circumstances of their initial meeting, the two met for coffee to test the waters. Melissa and Jason talked for hours, the date only ending because the shop needed to close for the night. After six years of dating, Jason proposed in a small cantina while on a family vacation in Florida. “He got down on one knee, held out the ring, proposed, but forgot to put the ring on my finger when I excitedly said, ‘Yes,’” says Melissa. The bride and groom’s families live in Chicago and Boston respectively, so choosing a venue for their big day was a tough decision. The soon to be Mr. and Mrs. ultimately fell in love with the Turner Hill Mansion. Melissa’s vision of a garden wedding came to life at the country club estate, with sprawling grounds and romantic gardens. The bride and groom were sure to honor the bride’s Chinese heritage by including a traditional Chinese tea ceremony during the cocktail hour, complete with a traditional body-hugging red dress called a cheongsam.
