A Whimsical Wedding at Mackinac Island Community Hall in Mackinac Island, Michigan

With stuntwoman and actress bride Sara Holden and musician groom Jason Price, you knew this wedding was going to be fun. The couple hosted their wedding on Mackinac Island, Michigan, for a variety of reasons. “It is a magical place that will never change. We can bring our grandkids here and show them where grandma and grandpa got married,” Sara says. She got married in a ball-gown wedding dress with layers of soft organza. "I wanted my look to be contemporary, as a contrast to the historic island where we got married,” Sara says. Webers Floral created a deep purple bouquet of calla lilies, which was the perfect amount of dramatic flair to Sara's look. Jason wore a gray tuxedo and bow tie, but tied in his personality with gray Converse shoes. They framed their wedding details around a classic Hollywood theme—their band, Newsmaker, even played old Hollywood songs during dinner, and switched the tempo to hip-hop and rock throughout the night. A stand-out detail? The couple got creative and named their tables after classic films, while inserting themselves into the movie posters. “This was a huge hit for our guests,” Sara says. She also loved riding around the island in a horse-drawn carriage from Gough Carriages with her husband, flower girl and ring bearer. “It felt straight out of a fairy tale, getting picked up from my wedding by two horses and a carriage and riding around the island,” she says. One of the most personal wedding items we loved were the napkins passed out during the cocktail hour, which included facts about the couple and their relationship. It was a great way for the guests to get to know Sara and Jason, and to see the progression of their relationship.
