A Whimsical Wedding at Eberly Brooks in San Antonio, Texas
After passing Eberley Brooks Events every day on his way to work, Joseph (Clayton) Kenady (27 and in landscape design) knew it was the venue where he would marry Whitney Silhan (27). During their unity ceremony, the couple potted a tree. “Like any marriage the tree needs care and cannot be neglected, helping us to learn and grow on this journey as one,” Whitney says. Although rain moved the ceremony indoors, the venue ended up looking better than planned with all the décor in one space. “Our vision was brought to life in a way we never thought possible,” Whitney says. “The rain was a blessing in disguise.”
During their vows, Clayton promised to get Whitney her Persian cat, and Whitney vowed to go on two camping trips a year together.
The couple’s main invite was dubbed “The Whitney” because they were the first to choose the style from Little White Invite.
The couple was surprised with a flower and vine wall originally taken out of the budget. “The wall really added to the display,” Whitney says. “It tied everything together.” Cascading eucalyptus leaves and roses rested on a backdrop of string lights and tulle. “It was whimsical and romantic with a touch of hippie,” Whitney says.
Clayton’s favorite succulents paired up with pumpkins, hinting at Whitney’s love of fall.
Inspired by Clayton’s landscaping background, the couple gave out flower seed packets with their wedding date and the phrase “Let love grow.” Clayton’s mom made the topper on the pumpkin spice cake, and the cookie bar included specialties from Whitney’s mom. “It added an extra layer of love,” she says. Whitney and Clayton included potato and biscuit bars in the spread.
