A Whimsical Travel-Themed Wedding at Eventi Hotel in New York City
It's impossible to look at the photos from Vicki Bing (27 and a medical student at Yale University) and Joseph Heng's (28 and also a medical student at Yale University) New York City wedding and not crack a smile—or two. In fact, that was their goal! "I wanted the color palette to be yellow and lavender because they're my happy colors," says Vicki. From there, the adorable couple incorporated a travel theme into their day as a nod to their international roots and all the jetsetting they do together. Luckily for us, A Guy + A Girl Photography captured every bit of their morning wedding, which began with a scenic rooftop ceremony followed by a wardrobe change for Vicki and a brunch reception that ended with a cake by the one-and-only Sylvia Weinstock. "Seriously, it was the best tasting cake I've had in my entire life!" says Joseph. And don't get us started on those sugar flowers! The buttercream confection was bursting sugar roses, peonies, orchids and curly willows—all made out of sugar. From the guys' whimsical bow ties to the sign-in board inspired by the Disney movie "Up," every detail of Vicki and Joseph's cheery wedding has us smiling. Mission accomplished! From the bride: "We were very lucky to have awesome vendors who were all very easy to work with and did a fantastic job. If you're getting married in New York City, my advice is to really think about what you would want your wedding to look like before you start looking at vendors and don't stop until you find it!"
