A Whimsical, Romantic Wedding at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, California

Ashley Levin and Johnathan Crain’s wedding was a vintage-inspired affair with a whimsical fairytale theme. The Birchwood Room at the Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, California provided a stunning backdrop for the day, its intimate garden setting and majestic natural waterfall and 100-year-old weeping willow trees. Wanting the day to have an intimate, romantic feel, the couple could not have chosen a more fitting setting.


The festivities kicked off with an outdoor ceremony, where Ashley and Johnathan exchanged vows under the shade of a rustic wooden wedding arch draped in lush greenery. An assembly of mismatched chairs and decorative vintage furnishings lent a whimsical and charmingly eclectic feel to the decor.

After their “I do’s” the celebrations continued at the Ranch House, a series of private patios surrounded by oak trees with twinkling lights. With the help of Bright Blue Events, the couple transformed the patio into a dreamlike garden-inspired scene with a sea of soft pastels, lush rose centerpieces, textured table linens and pink glassware. Gilded cutlery, mismatched floral dinnerware and elegant vintage accents were essential in instilling an element of old world charm. Joanie and Leigh’s Cakes provided three beautifully hand-painted confections for an unforgettable post-dinner treat and Dart DJ kept the party going late into the night.
