A Whimsical, Romantic Backyard Wedding in Lexington, South Carolina
Jordan Lee and Wayne Lee had a whimsical, romantic backyard wedding that was truly inspired by family. "My Nana was always one of the most important people in my life. Unfortunately, we lost her about a year before the wedding, but I wanted to make sure she was there in spirit. It took place in her favorite part of her home—her garden," Jordan says. Their wedding theme was "backyard garden party meets vintage glam," and it included plenty of neutral colors, timeless touches and spring-inspired flowers. The traditional Lutheran ceremony took place near Jordan's grandparents' pond. For the altar, "we used grandmother's rugs and surrounded it with tall white delphiniums and lanterns," Jordan says. Guests also attended a reception in a sailcloth tent decorated with string lights, greenery and loose flower arrangements on the beams. A white bar in the center of the tent created a focal point, and it also complemented the white linens on the dining tables. Another show-stopping element was the cake table, which had a collection of vintage plates displaying different cakes—including a single-tiered dessert hand-painted with colorful spring flowers. Jordan wore a lace-covered A-line dress with a floral design, paired with a veil and loosely curled hair. Wayne sported a royal blue suit fit with suspenders and a matching tie.
