A Whimsical Lake Wedding at the Lutsen Resort in Lutsen, Minnesota
When Daniel asked his girlfriend of nearly five years, Brynn (22 and a registered nurse), to become his wife, the 22-year-old bike mechanic decided to go out with a bang. "Daniel proposed by performing this song that is quite the power ballad," Brynn laughs. "It's always been kind of a joke for us. He got a bunch of family and friends to play instruments and they set off a ton of fireworks. The whole thing was so much fun." Once planning for their special day began, the Ontario-based couple immediately chose the Lutsen Resort as their venue, since the two share a mutual love of the Lake Superior North Shore area. "It's the oldest resort in Minnesota and we visit the area around Lutsen and Grand Marais often throughout the year to go hiking and snowboarding," Brynn says. When choosing a color scheme and theme, the bride only knew that she wanted to gravitate toward shades of blue and pink. "There really wasn't a set theme for the day," Brynn says. "It was more of a collection of beautiful things and fun ideas." To keep the look fresh and whimsical, the couple decorated with tons of fresh ranunculus and garden roses, string lights, candles and over-sized glass lanterns. "I actually didn't see anything set up until we were at the wedding," the bride says. "We have a lot of creative friends and family who did a beautiful job and helped us out so much." Once the night came to a close, the couple and their guests retreated to the lake for a beach bonfire complete with music and s'mores. "The entire day was a reflection of our personalities," Brynn says. "We really appreciate how much our friends and family did to help us create such an amazing day!"
