A Whimsical, DIY Wedding at Signature at West Neck in Virginia Beach, Virginia

Dana Burrows-Huckfeldt (31 and a special education teacher) and Glenda Burrows-Huckfeldt (38 and an executive assistant manager) met at a mutual friend's birthday party. "Over the next two years, we showed each other a love neither one of us knew was possible to give or to receive," says Dana. She proposed to Glenda with a pocket watch, and a request to spend all of their time together. After an extensive search for the perfect wedding venue, Dana and Glenda landed on the Signature at West Neck, a golf club in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Their DIY, summer wedding was colorful, romantic and fun. At the heartwarming ceremony, Dana and Glenda provided their guests with handkerchiefs in burlap sacks to use when the couple pledged their love to one another under a vintage lace wedding arch. Bright, playful birdcages hung from the canopy of the tented reception and decorated the burlap covered dining tables. The stylish wedding party dressed in ensembles of pink lace dresses and teal dress shirts with Spiderman bow ties. Dana looked beautiful in an airy, A-line gown with ruffles cascading down the skirt, while Glenda dressed in a crisp, white suit that was perfect for their summertime wedding. As a surprise for their wedding party, the newlyweds performed a choreographed number that got everyone on the dance floor. "Above everything, we wanted everyone to have a beautiful experience and celebrate our marriage with us."
