A Whimsical Destination Wedding at Cabo Surf Hotel in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, Mexico
For the adventurous couple who like to travel, surf, hang out on the beach or all of the above, look no further than the Cabo Surf Hotel in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, Mexico. This picturesque venue channels Baja's rustic atmosphere and highlights gorgeous natural scenery while staying true to local Mexican flair, which is why frequent visitors Dawn Sutton (29 and a chef) and Jaco Stofberg (32 and a ship captain) traveled there for an intimate destination wedding with 36 guests. They hired event planners at Cabo Surf Hotel and Lazy Gourmet Catering to help them translate all their ideas into the wedding day, including many of the things they love about Mexico. Dawn and Jaco said “I do” on the beach under a beautiful woven twig arbor by Florenta Flower Design, complete with hanging white flowers to amp up the romance. After the ceremony, a mariachi band played while guests sipped margaritas and local beer, enjoyed a Mexican buffet and even a tres leches wedding cake—Jaco’s favorite. We loved their Mexican-inspired photo booth, with whimsical paper props and a draped Mexican papel picado line where guests could display their photos. Dawn and Jaco rounded out the reception with fireworks and a s’mores bonfire on the beach. The highlight of the evening? Lolo the Mexican donkey! The burro made a great ice-breaker, as guests let loose for photos and rides together. See the cute details, captured by the talented Ana & Jerome, below.
