Jessica DeRuzza (34 and a healthcare consultant and graphic designer) and Jeff Krupinski (33 and in technology sales) met in Hoboken, New Jersey through roommates—Jessica swore she would never date a guy from New Jersey, and ended up marrying one! The couple purchased their first home in the beach area of Fairfield, Connecticut, where Jeff proposed with a picnic on Sasco Beach. The couple got married at the Winvian, a 113-acre luxury resort and spa in Litchfield, Connecticut where all their guests could stay on the grounds with them in individual, whimsical cottages with unique themes. The bride designed all of the stationery and decor for her wedding, which incorporated a color palette of seafoam, coral, gold and ivory for a theme of vintage elegance. The ceremony took place on the lawn outside a barn and silo followed by cocktail hour on the lawn listening to the Brazilian jazz music. The reception moved into the barn with bistro lights and tea candles illuminating the magical space where the couple shared their first dance to “The Way I Am” by Ingrid Michaelson. Guests enjoyed a fresh farm to table style dinner with produce grown at the Winvian and a dessert bar with a pearly white three tier wedding cake alongside a colorful display of sweets. As the sun set, guests enjoyed hand rolled cigars around a bonfire. After the reception, the party moved into the main house where the DJ played the couple’s 90s hip hop favorites. “I wanted my wedding to be personal and for our guests to feel like our wedding portrayed us as a couple,” says Jessica.

The bride carried a bouquet of coral and white peonies, peach garden roses, orange ranunculus and green hypericum berries fastened with burlap and a band of ivory lace ribbon and secured with pearl pins and her grandmother’s 1920s brooch.
