A Whimsical, Blue Wedding at the Carlyle Club in Alexandria, Virginia

Self-proclaimed comedy nerds Carolyn Cody (28 and a lawyer) and Dan Jones (28 and a senior consultant) put a personal spin on their spring nuptials with the help of a vibrant emerald and sapphire color scheme paired with sentimental, bird-inspired details. "We incorporated a hawk and hummingbird motif throughout our day, as a nod to the screen names we used when we met on Match.com," Carolyn says of the bird illustrations that popped up on dinner menus, table cards, posters and programs. "Dan's cousin even wrote a poem about a hawk and a hummingbird for our programs—it was so sweet." After exchanging vows in a traditional ceremony at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, the newlyweds celebrated at the nearby Carlyle Club in Alexandria, Virginia, where guests indulged in a lemon mousse cake covered in fondant and filled with raspberries. "The topper was a silhouette of Batman and Wonder Woman kissing," Carolyn says of the cake's finishing touch.
