A Whimsical and Romantic Wedding at the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum in Palm Beach, Florida

When Damian Scott (36 and a business owner) and Deirdre Gibson (32 and a software engineer) first met, she literally tripped and fell on her face. “Probably because I was now more embarrassed than nervous, the interview went really well, and I got the job,” says Deirdre. Damian asked her out about three months later. Seven years after that, Damian proposed during a trip to Aruba for his birthday. With a two-year engagement, the couple had plenty of time to plan their whimsical wedding accented in purple at the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum in Palm Beach, Florida. Three-tiered arrangements of roses and greenery lined their ceremony aisle as each guest took his or her place among a sea of gold chiavari chairs. Deirdre and Damian’s 180 friends and family members toured the museum during their cocktail hour and returned for a luxurious reception. The space was decorated with ivory linens, gold chiavari chairs, tall pink and purple rose arrangements as well as whimsical centerpieces of pink cymbidium orchids. The couple surprised their guests with an eye-catching performance. “We hired a small dance company to perform the skit for "How do you know?" from the movie Enchanted,” says Deirdre. A grand fireworks display over the museum ended the night’s celebrations.
