A Fall Hotel Wedding at The Chase Park Plaza in St. Louis, Missouri
Leslie Goodrich (28 and a senior logistics integration manager) and Tyler Michels’s (29 and a senior underwriter) wedding was inspired by “a feminine take on fall,” Leslie says of their merlot, blush and gold-filled fete. The celebration called on two city landmarks, the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis, outfitted with gilded mosaic scenes, and the top floor of The Chase Park Plaza hotel, dubbed “The Starlight Room.” Leslie and Tyler welcomed guests with Bissinger's confections and weekend essentials. As if stunning surroundings weren’t auspicious enough, guests made out with a real chance at luck too. “Tyler’s family loves to gift lottery scratchers,” Leslie says. “To share the tradition with guests, we gifted freestanding lottery ticket holders that said ‘Lucky in Love’ and slipped lottery scratchers inside.” Leslie describes the bridesmaids' silk wrap dresses as "classic comfort." Postceremony, Tyler surprised his guys with novelty bow ties. "Removable cap sleeves provided just the right amount of coverage for the ceremony," Leslie says of her convertible gown that she paired with wine-colored heels and a berry lip. Her mom's amethyst ring doubled as "something old" and a "something blue," while a friend gave her a beaded bracelet. The bridal bouquet included magnolia leaves and gardenias, a bloom that the bride's grandmother has been known to float in crystal bowls at home. At The Chase Park Plaza hotel, steel-blue accents, a color carried over from the stationery, popped against green, burgundy and oak. Gold foil napkins featured the pair's two dachshunds. Three cakes rounded out dinner: lemon with raspberry filling, chocolate with espresso buttercream and, lastly, alternating tiers of pumpkin and caramel cake with cinnamon buttercream.
