A Waterfront Wedding at The Veranda at The Whitcomb in St. Joseph, Michigan

After meeting at a bar concert in Chicago, newlyweds Kamila Gould (36 and an actuarial analyst) and Mardy Gould (35 and a marketing director) quickly fell into sync. "We dated for a year but knew right away we were going to be together," Kamila says. While planning their summer, waterfront wedding, both Kamila and Mardy immediately knew St. Joseph was the city in which they would say 'I do.' "We fell in love with St. Joe on our trips back and forth between Michigan and Chicago, the bride says. "We one day want to bring our kids there on vacation, so it was the perfect spot." Dressed in a white Pronovias gown complete with intricate, back detailing, the bride and her groom exchanged vows in front of 100 guests at The Veranda at The Whitcomb. "We chose the venue because we wanted an outdoor, summer wedding that would allow guests to enjoy themselves," Kamila says. "The Veranda provided us with coverage in case of inclement weather and had just enough seating to accommodate all of our guests." Armed with a color palette of coral, white and light blue, the couple created a light, airy reception space complete with paper lanterns and unique doorknob table numbers. The newlyweds even gave thanks to guests young and old by gifting each child with a teddy bear and the remainder of their friends and family with Spirytus -- a Polish vodka. "We had a sparkler send off (which made for gorgeous photos) and my mom passed out a Polish treat for everyone to take home," the bride explains. "Everyone was trying to get seconds!"
