A Waterfront Wedding at Lake Superior Theater in Marquette, Michigan

Newlyweds Andrew (30 and a brand specialist) and Erica (25 and a medical student) began dating in college after meeting through their student finance committee. "As chairperson of the committee, Andrew started planning group activities to promote 'group bonding,'" Erica says. "Little did I know that he was actually planning these events so that he could spend more time with me!" The two became an item and later got engaged on a chilly March evening at Coronado Beach near San Diego. "After a lovely dinner, we went down to the beach and that's when he got down on one knee. He caught me by complete surprise!" For their waterfront wedding on the shores of Lake Superior, the couple exchanged vows in Marquette. "It was an obvious choice for us," the bride says. "Not only is it near our families but it's where me met and fell in love." Dressed in a white, strapless, chiffon gown from Casablanca, the bride and her bridesmaids (in J. Crew) got ready at The Landmark Inn before moving to the ceremony site at a friend's private residence. After saying 'I do,' the couple and their wedding party boarded a boat to surprise their guests at the Lake Superior Theater. "Having our wedding outside near the water really reflected us as a couple," the bride says. "Plus, we knew that delicious food and great music were necessary parts of our day that we needed to share with everyone at our wedding."
