A Waterfront Wedding at Horseshoe Bay Resort in Horseshoe Bay, Texas
Christin Russell (28 and a pharmacist) and Dustin Andrews (28 and an engineer) always knew of each other growing up, as they both went to the same elementary school, but their lives didn’t cross paths until their senior year of high school. Christin was a cheerleader and Dustin was voted to be one of the “cheerleader escorts.” In their last semester of high school, Dustin mustered up the courage to ask Christin for her AIM Screen Name. Their relationship grew stronger through college and after graduation, they moved to San Antonio for Christin’s career and then to Galveston for Dustin’s career. The pair got engaged in Red River, New Mexico on the top of a ski mountain. Their wedding celebrations took place at Horseshoe Bay Resort in Horseshoe Bay, Texas. “We wanted a location that felt like a destination wedding but was still close to home so we could include all our friends and family,” says Christin. The couple wanted a casual, classy and clean atmosphere. They chose to go with casual gray suits for the groomsmen and floor-length gray bridesmaids dresses with purple accents as a tribute to their alma mater, Tarleton State University. Christin and Dustin made more of the decorations and stationery themselves, with help from their families. “We tried to tell the story of our relationship throughout the ceremony and reception,” says Christin. “What made it so special to us was that we were able to include our closest friends and family since we had a smaller wedding.”
