A Waterfront Wedding at Boathouse at Sunday Park in Midlothian, Virginia

Danessa Knaupp (39 and a financial-services director) and Jonathan Brabrand (39 and an investment banker) knew they wanted an outdoor venue for their spring wedding. Because they were having a brunch reception, they wanted their guests to enjoy the day outside. The Boathouse at Sunday Park gave them the perfect combination of indoor reception space and stunning waterfront grounds. The ceremony took place outdoors by the water, while the following reception took place inside the restaurant. Danessa and Jonathan chose a dusty blue and coral palette for their decor. "We wanted our wedding and reception to feel elegant but very approachable," Danessa says. The round dining tables at the Boathouse were covered in dusty blue linens for the event. Centerpieces of coral and orange roses, peach stock, thistles and eucalyptus leaves were accented by gold vases. Because there were many children in attendance, Danessa and Jonathan also had "lollipop topiaries," which were made up of bouquets of lollipops on top of gold candle stands for a playful twist. And for a fun exit, they gave their guests sheets of floral paper, so they could send them off with paper planes. Simply Green Photography captured all the pretty details from Danessa and Jonathan's elegant waterside wedding.
