The Bride Jennifer Zimnowski, 35, a manager (consultant) at Roundarch Inc. The Groom Bryan Forbes, 37, a strategic planning director at Critical Mass The Date August 7 With old Chicago as their inspiration, Jennifer and Bryan’s main goal was to plan a fun event. Their theme included peacock feathers and a vibrant color palette of blues, reds, oranges and pinks.

Delicate piping decorated the simple, square cake.
Bryan and his groomsmen each wore a single orange cymbidium orchid.
Blue pumps brought the peacock color into Jennifer’s look.
Jennifer made herself a barrette out of an ostrich feather and a rhinestone clip—both of which she found at a crafts store.
Each table was associated with an old Chicago travel poster, and guests matched them to smaller versions on their escort cards.
Jennifer’s four bridesmaids chose different dress styles from Priscilla of Boston in the same teal hue, oasis.
The couple designed the programs themselves and included a peacock motif they’d also used in their invitations.
The two flower girls wore coral dresses and carried green pomanders of button mums and a single peacock feather.
Going for a classic, 1940s look, Jennifer wore her hair in a wavy, loose bun and accessorized with Art Deco–style earrings.
This table was topped with a collection of vases wrapped in ribbon and filled with exotic flowers such as cymbidium orchids and pincushion proteas.
Jennifer wanted lots of texture, so her bouquet included peacock feathers, pincushion proteas and cymbidium orchids.
Red and orange bunches of dahlias, ranunculus, celosia, bells of Ireland and brunia berries popped against the girls’ peacock-blue dresses.
