The couple met at work. They got to know each other at a poolside potluck. The Bride Ashley Veselka, 37 and a designer and crafter The Groom John Forsythe, 33 and a software engineer at Cisco Systems, Inc. The Date April 24 Ashley decided her theme would be “vintage Texas meets vintage pin-up girl meets vintage Hollywood” theme.

A galvanized metal windmill sat on top of the cake, mimicking the one on the property. Inside, the cake was lemon mascarpone.
Ashley wore an ivory silk taffeta dress with tulle peeking out below the hemline. Her headpiece was the ultimate personal touch -- she handmade her birdcage veil and fascinator.
The couple found a novelty book on marriage while driving from San Francisco to Texas. Quotes from the book ended up on the front of their programs.
Ashley and John displayed their RSVP postcards instead of escort cards. There was a place on each card to include some piece of marriage advice along with the RSVP. The advice was so wonderful that Ashley wanted to share it with everyone.
Ashley made her bouquet out of vintage floral brooches using Aurora Borealis, gray, chartreuse, and fuchsia rhinestones.
A View-Master, one of the items they collected on their hunt for old tins, was on display and it actually worked, showing pictures in the Tetons from the 1950s.
Apple green satin tablecloths and beat-up, vintage tin cans (that the couple collected at antique fairs and from eBay.com) filled with flowers topped off the tall tables.
The couple’s Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix, Winston, was the ring bearer. Ashley made a chartreuse-colored moss ring pillow; she says the best part is the heart-shaped moss clump fastened to the pillow with a pearl-headed pin.
Ashley and John found each of these letters(cut out of sheet metal) at an antique show.
Ashley wanted vintage sodas and beers in colorful bottles to complement the colorful venue and John found everything at Spec's liquor store. The bottles sat on the patio of the old schoolhouse, right above a vintage Coca-Cola cooler.
The couple bought natural jute gauze in bulk online, then cut it for the table runners. Tiny succulents and moss from The Home Depot filled old tins on the long banquet-style tables.
Twisted Heart Decor
Two long tables were set outside for dinner. Burlap runners and small floral arrangements created a laid-back reception vibe.
The bridesmaids wore custom lightweight-wool dresses and accessorized with fuchsia silk rose clutches and pretty handmade fascinators (gifts from the bride).
Ashley made the funky green and brown invites herself using a mix of modern and formal fonts. She even lined the envelopes with gray stripes and a brown flourish.
