A Vintage-Italian-Inspired Wedding at Temple Beth Torah in Granada Hills, California

A touch of Old Hollywood met vintage-Italian flair at this classic wedding, decorated in a soft color palette of pink, cream and light gray. Emily Heller (25 and a marketing coordinator/independent theater producer) and Brandon Taylor (26 and a professional wrestler) had their ceremony and reception at Temple Beth Torah in Granada Hills, California, where they first met as children attending choir practice. They both came from big Italian families, so they wanted to incorporate their culture through vintage elements -- from the lace and mason jars decorating the dining tables to the old-fashioned postcards used to write messages to the newlyweds that matched the table assignment cards. The glamorous, vintage Audrey Hepburn style was what Emily sought in a wedding dress, but ended up with a simple ivory look with a fit-and-flare style that she absolutely fell in love with. After the Jewish ceremony, photographed by Altar Image Photography and filmed by Naumann Studios, the party filtered into the reception hall, with colorful paper lanterns and market lights hanging from the ceiling. What really caught our eye were the lush flower centerpieces arranged by Brandon’s aunt that made the simple light gray dining tables pop with color! “We wanted each part of the wedding to be personalized and a special reflection of us,” Emily says. “We tried to let as many family members as possible help with our special day, from the desserts to the flowers.”
