A Vintage-Inspired Turquoise Wedding at the Indianapolis Public Library in Indianapolis, Indiana

Kim Stiller (29, Child and Adolescent Therapist) met Peter Wallace (Lab Manager) on January 29, 2010 at The Vogue Theater, an Indianapolis concert venue. The two met at an 80's cover band concert through mutual friends. "I like to say I made the first move after finding out he was single and telling a friend, 'game on!'," says Kim. After their first meeting, the two became inseparable. In May, 2011 Peter planned a surprise trip to San Francisco, California. Kim and Peter flew across the country to Kim's favorite city, where Peter planned a Golden Gate Bridge Proposal. The pair caught a bus to the bridge immediately after exiting the plane. With their luggage, the two went to the scenic location, and walked a short while. There, Peter asked a stranger to take their picture, and just as the passer-by was about the snap the picture, he dropped to one knee, popped the question, and presented Kim with a diamond stunner. Peter and Kim tied the knot on September 15 at Carmel Lutheran Church in Carmel, Indiana, Kim's childhood church. Tall arrangements of spider mums lined the aisles and a cascading arrangement of greenery hung from the church's altar table. After saying 'I do,' the bride and groom left through a shower of lime green and turquoise confetti. "I have always loved lime green and turquoise together and chose white as an accent color. I felt like the bright colors gave the wedding a bright and fun feel," says Kim. The reception, held at The Indianapolis Public Library, featured the same color palette and a 50s vibe, inspired by the bride's birdcage veil. Guests were treated to mini cheeseburgers and crinkle-cut fries late night plus vintage Coca Cola bottles, reminiscent of a classic diner. ?The couple also had a candy bar with 50's theme candy such as fireballs, candy cigarettes and Black Jack gum. "I think the fun, unique, and relaxed atmosphere reflected our personalities," says Kim.
