A Vintage-Inspired Boho Wedding at Belle Isle Casino in Detroit, Michigan
Historic architecture and unparalleled views of the city made Detroit’s Belle Isle Casino an obvious venue for Tina Iulianelli (39 and a senior manager at a retail tech company) and Jim Feltz (42 and a creative director and writer), who got engaged on the island’s conservatory a year prior to their “I dos.” With a vintage-glam aesthetic in mind, the pair outfitted the space in warm metallics and shades of marsala, rose gold and mint. “The style was very reminiscent of the city’s ’30s and ’40s glamour,” Tina says. Jim looked dapper in a bespoke charcoal wool suit and cream knit tie, while Tina opted for a vintage-inspired tulle and lace gown. Bud vases, air plants and tufts of moss dotted dining tables, while mercury glass votives and glittering table linens evoked a sense of glamour. Upon arriving to the reception, guests selected sips from a list of signature cocktails named for the couple’s favorite locales throughout the city. The couple commissioned a close friend to create a custom coloring book, which was displayed at each place setting. “On the back of each booklet, we thanked our guests and let them know that our pets made a donation to Ferndale Cat Shelter and Home FurEver Animal Rescue on their behalf,” Tina says. At the cake table, an image of the Belle Isle Bridge topped the lemon-lavender and vanilla-orange cake.
