A Vintage Industrial Wedding at The Lace Factory in Essex, Connecticut

Kerry Ann Mullen (36 and an office manager) and Tyler O'Hazo (39 and a real estate appraiser) had dated on and off for 10 years before their engagement. On a trip to Spain, the couple found themselves on the funicular train up to a medieval tower overlooking San Sebastian. Once on top of the tower, Tyler surprised Kerry Ann with a proposal which influenced their inclusion of many Spanish elements in the wedding. Tyler had been talking about finding a location near the Connecticut River for the longest time so the couple went to check out the area. They found a beautiful open area in Deep River, Connecticut where they held their grassy outdoor ceremony. An antique steam train began at that very spot and rode guests down to The Lace Factory for the reception. Upon arrival to the open industrial warehouse type venue, guests could find their seat from the escort cards of bud vases and tiny flowers. Kerry is a vegetarian so the focus of the meal was an incredible vegetarian paella accompanied by Spanish influences for all of their visiting guests. Before finishing off the night with hours of dancing, guests were treated to a large dessert buffet featuring Tyler's favourite, chocolate cream pie.
