A Vintage Estate Wedding at the Crane's Estate in Ipwich, Massachusetts
Meghan Bussone (27 and a home decor retail shop owner) and Leif Johnson (25 and a corporate account executive) met while working reception positions at The Essex Street Inn downtown Newburyport, Massachusetts. Meghan found herself staying well after her shift was over to talk to Leif, and they have been together ever since. On Memorial Day Weekend of 2014, Leif proposed with his mother's wedding ring while their families were in town visiting. With a vintage theme already in mind, Meghan and Leif fell in love with the Crane's Estate for the history and vintage vibe as well as the gorgeous grounds and breathtaking views from atop the estate. To keep the color palette simple, Megan chose light pinks, gold, and rose gold accents seen in the bridesmaid dresses and floral arrangements. Meghan purchased her gown at an event funding Brides Across America. With ivory satin fabric, a train that gorgeously bustled, and a rosegold broach the clasped in the back, Meghan added lace from her mother's wedding gown to the bottom of the dress for added length. Meghan and Leif chose to have an open bar during the cocktail hour and reception. There were no special cocktails during cocktail hour, so guests were able to order what they liked. For entertainment, Meghan and Leif mutually decided that they wanted a band who could play and sing an array of genres of music from swing and big band, to today's hits. They decided to go with Clockwork, an extremely talented band from Boston. "Cherish the planning process. Have fun while planning together instead of stressing," says Meghan.
