Candace Ramirez (30, receptionist) and Casey Veil (35, vice president) met through mutual friends and were initially acquaintances. Candace eventually gave into Casey’s charm and went out with him. Four and a half years later, Candace, Casey and Candace’s son Connor took a Christmas vacation to London. Casey had plans to propose in the London Eye, but the night before they were scheduled to ride, he was so excited he asked for Candace’s hand in marriage at 2 a.m. Their San Antonio wedding was a vacation for a lot of their family and friends, so they wanted their guests to relax and fully enjoy the day. As soon as Casey saw The Arneson River Theater, he knew it was exactly where he wanted to marry Candace. Combined with the ambience of the San Antonio Riverwalk, The Arneson River Theater is an extremely romantic and beautiful location of vintage elegance. Guests were whisked away from the hotel to the ceremony by riverboats with mariachi bands so they could experience the beautiful scenery of the setting. Rustic lantern lights with succulents and garden roses provided additional lighting while lining the center steps of the aisle way. Candace and Casey had a traditional Christian ceremony with a tree-planting component set to music by a string quartet. Towards the middle of the ceremony, it began to rain, neither the couple or their guests let that put a damper on the night. The reception took place in The Westin Riverwalk, where guests enjoyed an elegant dinner and music by DJ Holtz Entertainment. The wedding cakes did not disappoint: the wedding cake was a delicious butter cake with a customized cake topper of the new family in exquisite detail. For Casey, an avid pilot, his cake was shaped like an airplane, complete with the registration number of his airplane. Candace and Casey’s wedding was an elegant, timeless and romantic affair surrounded by the natural beauty of the San Antonio Riverwalk from start to finish.

The bridesmaids' bouquets were made with pink garden roses, wine hypericum berries, wine dahlias, hanging amaranthus and kale hand tied with twine.

Candace's bridal bouquet consisted of pink garden roses, seeded eucalyptus, hanging amaranthus, burgundy garden roses, wine scabiosa, succulents, kale and wine-colored berries and dahlias, hand tied with twine.
Casey chose the princess cut solitaire engagement ring from Tiffany & Co. “I knew Candace would like something with clean lines and a classic look,” says Casey.
The Arneson River theater, along with the San Antonio Riverwalk, provided a cultured, natural beauty for the ceremony. Candace and Casey went with an elegant vintage theme and a color palette of maroon, navy and champagne.

Candace and Casey had a traditional Christian ceremony with a tree-planting ceremony. They plan to plant the tree at their home.
The ceremony was held at The Arneson River Theater at night. The couple rented riverboats with mariachi bands aboard to give their guests the experience and sensations of the San Antonio setting.

The reception centerpieces were mossed-garden covered glass vessels with full, lush floral arrangements. A special thank you note for every guest was folded into the napkin at each place setting.

The wedding cake was a butter cake with buttercream icing made by Cakes by Cathy Young. "This was the best tasting cake I have ever had," says Candace, who highly recommends her baker.
The cake topper, designed by Concarta, included models of the bride, groom, son of bride and family dog. Each character was carefuly made to represent their actual look with great detail—even the bride's dress and hair were matched perfectly!
