A Vintage Barn Wedding at Bouman-Stickney Farmstead in Readington Township, New Jersey
Brianna Goldman (29 and a hair and makeup artist) and Kristian (Kris) Ostergaard (34 and a film and television grip) got engaged at Island Beach State Park in New Jersey on a quiet spot on the dunes with their dog, Bella. The couple had a day wedding that extended long into the night at Bouman-Stickney Farmstead in Readington Township, New Jersey. The wedding had a vintage style with a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere. Brianna wanted a timeless, simple look with vintage style, so she wore an illusion neckline lace cap sleeve dress. Kris and his groomsmen wore three-piece, modern cut suits with leather suspenders. The couple relied on the aesthetic of the rustic barn and green fields as natural decor for an organic atmosphere. They brought a volleyball set, footballs and set up a horseshoe pit so their guests felt like they had entered a backyard party and everyone felt included. For the cocktail hour, the couple had an open bar next to the main bar that they would later dance in. There was a string quartet of local students that played to entertain the guests while everyone mingled and continued taking photos. “We tried to keep the atmosphere as fun and relaxed as possible,” says Kris. “It was a day wedding that extended into the night.” As wedding favors, Brianna and her father made keychains from antique silverware that they tooled and bent so that guests would have something to look back on and remember the couple’s special day.
