A Vintage, Aviation-Inspired Wedding at Oglebay Resort & Conference Center in Wheeling, West Virginia
Although Anna Yahn (33 and an interior designer) and Brandon Jones (34 and an aerospace engineer) recently moved to California, they wanted their nuptials to feel like home in Wheeling, West Virginia, where Anna spent much of her childhood. Anna and Brandon wanted to reflect their personalities as designers, so they created an aviation-inspired theme decorated in vintage style—from the old-fashioned postcards used as table numbers to the antique baggage tags that served as escort cards, both created by Anna herself. The traditional ceremony took place at the ornate Cathedral of St. Joseph, where Anna attended church growing up. The party moved to Oglebay Resort & Conference Center, where guests sat at white-covered dining tables set with make-your-own paper-airplane favors—plus some delicious coffee that Anna and Brandon loved, just because. In addition to the cookie table that friends and family contributed to, a white three-tier wedding cake accented with flowers put the icing on the evening's meal. Our favorite detail? Anna's white dress with a vintage style—an Elegance by Roya couture ball gown that had hand-beaded lace and cap sleeves, accented with a gemstone belt to complete her stunning look. "We tried to represent who we are: designers who love to make and build things and travel the world, all while drinking a lot of coffee."
