A Vintage Art-Deco Wedding at Fonthill Castle in Doylestown, Pennsylvania
Kira Kohrherr (35 and a dual business owner) and David Barrett (38 and a COO/CFO) met in an elevator at an apartment building in New York City. The next day, David delivered a note and a bottle of wine to Kira via her doorman. His proposal was just as romantic as his introduction: After a dinner on the beach at Big Sur, David got down on one knee and asked Kira to marry him. This couple's charming art-deco wedding took place at Fonthill Castle in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Kira and David said their vows outdoors under a birchwood huppah, and their guests sat in a circle around them. After the ceremony, family and friends were invited to explore a variety of food and drink stations around the castle. The reception was held under tent with candelabra chandeliers hanging from its canopy and large windows for guests to enjoy the view. Dining tables were set with vintage-style blue linens and adorned with silver vase centerpieces. Kira looked gorgeous in a formfitting Elizabeth Fillmore gown. She carried a brooch bouquet with pieces that belonged to her grandmother. David was dapper in a cobalt blue suit and peacock feather boutonniere. As a special touch, Kira and David hired a local artist to live-paint a scene from the reception to commemorate this amazing vintage affair.
