Using pops of fun colors like mint, poppy and yellow, Kathryn (Katy) Hamilton (28 and an art director) and Benjamin Ortega (27 and an account supervisor) landed on a modern style with vintage touches.

The decor included a mix of DIY and rented pieces. “We were worried it would look like a hodgepodge of things, but in the end it came together,” Katy says. Her dress continued the vintage vibe with ivory dotted lace, and she wore her hair down and wavy, with her veil tucked into her bride.

Mason jars full of bright florals lined the ceremony aisle and were later reused as centerpieces for the reception tables.

The couple surprised guests by serving a crowd favorite: breakfast for dinner. The night included a waffle bar, omelet station and several sides, such as zucchini hash browns. For dessert, a marble wedding cake with buttercream frosting featured a custom topper — an Etsy purchase — that came with a paint kit so Katy and Ben could make the couple look more like them.
