A Vibrant Vineyard Wedding at Thomas Fogarty Winery in Woodside, California

Larissa Keiser (29 and an MBA candidate) and Trevor Cantanho (35 and a firefighter) planned a bright, modern affair with a color palette of vibrant berry, peach, gold and white. “We wanted our May wedding to exude color, joy and lightheartedness,” says Larissa. “In order to avoid a monochromatic look, we selected various tones of complementary pinks. Gold was used as an accent to add elegance and polish.” The Thomas Fogarty Winery offered the perfect backdrop for their spring nuptials, with its striking panoramic views and intimate, relaxed setting. “The location is simply stunning and we love that since the winery is open to the public we can visit to remember our wedding day in the future,” says Larissa. “I can see us both, a few decades down the line, still making our way up the Woodside hills to drink wine and reflect on our celebration!”

Taking advantage of the beautiful setting, Larissa and Trevor hosted their Catholic ceremony outdoors overlooking the vineyards. The pair customized the proceedings with readings from “The History of Love” by Nicole Krauss and a poem by Augusto Branco, called “Amores Eternos.” Cocktail hour and the reception unfolded on the winery’s 4,000 square foot Pavilion overlooking the Damiana Chardonnay vineyard. Colorful linens baring floral thank you notes and vibrant arrangements of orchids infused the open-air space with vibrancy and life, while details like table numbers paired with childhood photos and a cake from The Prolific Oven, a childhood favorite and the site of one of Larissa’s parents’ first dates brought a personal flair to the day. “Many brides mention they don’t have time to eat, but I couldn’t resist the appetizers and dinner prepared by Le Papillon,” says Larissa. Thomas Fogarty’s own wines gave guests a taste of local flavor and Big Fun Dis Jockeys kept the dance floor packed late into the night. A tip for the taking from Larissa: “Enjoy the process of planning your wedding and remember that not everything has to be perfect. Trevor and I were constantly joking that if the whole thing went 60% right, we'd be thrilled. Your wedding will be wonderful because it is a day truly full of love and there is nothing that can compare to being surrounded by the people you love.”
