A Vibrant, Traditional Wedding at the Metropolitan United Methodist Church in Washington, D.C.
Jennifer Kallenborn (29, assistant project manager) and Jay Daniel (36, project manager) met on Match.com. She “winked” at him, and he emailed her about something she wrote on her profile about not liking pizza, which was crazy to him as a native New Yorker. From there it snowballed, and they dated for a year and a half. Jay proposed to Jennifer on the day they moved in together. They were married at the Metropolitan Memorial United Methodist Church in Washington, D.C., and their reception was held at the Westin Hotel in Alexandria. They needed large venues because Jay has a large family and they had invited 400 guests to their wedding. Jennifer wore a sheath, lace wedding dress with a keyhole back from the Marisa Collection by Tamara Kristen. She carried a bouquet of pastel roses and ranunculuses. Her bridesmaids wore knee length, navy blue dresses, and carried coral bouquets. The groom and groomsmen all wore black tuxedos. The couple had a traditional Syrian Orthodox wedding that included Indian traditions, since Jay is of Indian descent. The groomsmen and bridesmaids blew bubbles during their recessional. The newlyweds ended the night with a fourtier, white wedding cake that was decorated with their monogram and red and coral roses. Jay and Jennifer’s wedding was beautiful and classic.
