A Vibrant, Retro-Modern Wedding at the Saguaro in Scottsdale, Arizona
Stephanie Lo (28 and an engineer) and Matthew Tidman (29 and an IT analyst) took vibrant orange and yellow colors to create a retro-modern wedding day at the Saguaro in Scottsdale, Arizona, where traveling guests could enjoy all of Old Town Scottsdale's charm. "Since it was our many of our guests' first time to Arizona, the decor and vibe the hotel provided were sure to give them memories they would never forget," Stephanie says. The wedding-day photographer, SJA Studios, captured the wedding from the outdoor ceremony in the Scottsdale Civic Center Plaza to the reception with black and pink dining tables and colorful artwork. When it came to find her wedding dress, Stephanie knew she wanted the dress to reflect her comfortable style. She chose an off-the-shoulder, knee-length dress with a retro style from Lillian Lottie Couture in Scottsdale, Arizona. "I need to mention my favorite part, the skirt had pockets," Stephanie says. "That is my definition of utility." For their wedding decor, Stephanie and Matt really wanted their guests to gain a feeling of the Southwestern styles while keeping with the retro-modern look. The stationery featured various orange and blue fonts depicting the retro style. Flowers seen throughout the day carried the desert vibe with yellow chrysanthemums, orange gerber daisies and succulents. Centerpieces included chrysanthemums, citrus fruits and succulents. "We wanted to echo the desert theme, choosing hearty plants and brightly colored flowers," Stephanie says. What reflected Stephanie and Matt the most, however, were their personalized vows. "Our vows were very indicative of us as a couple, that we are really down to earth and cherish the little, everyday things," Stephanie says. "Our guests later said that was their favorite part, listening to the personal things we shared."
