A Vibrant, Modern Wedding at the London Hotel in West Hollywood, California

Mimi Lee (29 and a project manager) and Morris Chen (31 and a portfolio manager) planned a chic modern soiree in West Hollywood for their mid-January wedding. The London West Hollywood Hotel provided the ultimate backdrop for the affair with its unique rooftop event spaces, striking views and contemporary design.

With the help of the planning team at So Happi Together, the couple brought their vision to life with a bold color palette of red and purple tones and silver and rose gold accents that lent an air of glamour and sophistication. “My Mom is very traditional and superstitious so I knew I had to include red and gold for luck in some form for the wedding, so I tried to go with rich wine and berry tones because I wanted the wedding to have a chic, fun and glamorous feel to it,” says Mimi.

After a ceremony and cocktail hour in the rooftop gardens, the newlyweds and their guests headed to the reception tent for a night filled with delicious food and lots of dancing. So Happi Together, JL Designs and Chiavari Chair Rentals totally transformed the space with vibrant arrangements of jewel tone blooms, crisp white linens, ghost chairs and statement-making geometric lighting that brought the whole design together.

Mimi and Morris treated guests to a delicious spread of their favorite desserts after dinner and got guests up out of their seats and onto the dance floor with the help of DJ Vinay. A tip for the taking from Mimi: “Get a planner! Although I have always been the go-to planner for every get-together as long as I could remember, my job had been increasingly demanding and I wouldn't have been able to do it without my planner, Nancy, helping me throughout the process. She made me sane when I knew I was going to crazy and for that I am forever indebted to her.”
