A Vibrant, Modern Wedding at Private Residence in Rockport, Texas
When it came to planning their waterfront wedding in Rockport, Texas, bold colors were a must for Ellen Hewitt and Zach Sanders. Shades of bright pink and coral and pops of teal captured the day’s festive feel and tied in seamlessly with the coastal setting. Vibrant purple, turquoise and pink table linens contrasted the striking draped ceiling of the reception tent to stunning effect, while colorful mismatched glassware and textured fuchsia chargers added an element of drama to the tablescapes. A subtle tropical theme was woven throughout the event, with palm leaves making an appearance on the invitations, plus in the bouquets and floral arrangements. Adding to the effect were three crystal chandeliers wrapped in lengths of cascading ivy. “The combination of the draping, lighting, chandeliers and tropical flowers really created the elegant coastal vibe I wanted,” Ellen says. The fete’s florals played a key role in bringing a softness to the event’s eye-catching aesthetic. A romantic mix of roses, peonies, dahlias, lemon leaf and eucalyptus filled the garden-inspired garland that framed the couple as they exchanged vows and topped the tables during the reception. After dinner and dancing, the newlyweds made a stylish getaway in Ellen’s grandmother’s 1967 Cadillac El Dorado.
