A Vibrant, Modern Wedding at La Villa in Kansas City, Missouri

Alicia Drown and Ben Terry share a love of mid-century modern design, and they brought the aesthetic into their wedding décor. A black-and-white color palette was offset with "vintage-centric pops of pink, yellow, orange and textile-inspired patterns," Alicia says. Her bouquet and the centerpieces drew the eye with shades of pink, orange and red. "I originally had planned on a more muted pink palette, but last minute emailed our florist and asked if we could amp up the color. I'm so glad we made the change because it was a very rainy, stormy spring day, and the room lit up with joy and color because of them," Alicia says. The flowers looked especially vibrant against the white walls, white tablecloths and simplistic ceremony backdrop. Other decorations included glass tea lights, brass candlesticks and DIY black-and-white welcome signs.  Alicia wore a simple dress paired with a lace veil, blue platform heels, her great grandmother's wedding ring, a custom-designed ring with diamonds from her mom's wedding band, earrings and a bracelet. Ben sported a black tuxedo and velvet slippers.Guests danced to a soul tribute band, sipped signature drinks (an Aperol spritz and a Manhattan) and ate a two-tier wedding cake with textured frosting and an eclectic topper inspired by designer Alexander Girard.
